    If you are planning a visit or vacation to South Africa, Morningside in Durban should be on the top of your list. Durban is the third-largest city in South Africa with millions of tourists creating a massive footfall. Morningside is a suburb in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa with many famous tourist attractions nearby. Its located on the south bank of Umegi river approximately 2 kilometres from the Indian Ocean coast. (Information Credit – Avondale Boutique Hotel)   Here are a few places of interest in and around Morningside, Durban-   The Durban Country Club: The Durban Country Club is famous as it is one of the top 100 golf courses in the world. It is a world-class sporting and leisure facility where you can sit back, relax, play a little golf and experience a social retreat along with your entire family. Moses Mabhida Stadium: Moses Mabhida Stadium was named after Moses Mabhida who was a former General Secretary of the South African Communist Party and a dedicated freedom fighter. It is famous for its beautiful architecture and many of famous events that it hosts. FIFA World Cup 2010 and 2013 African Cup of Nations are a few prominent events that were hosted in the famous Moses Mabhida Stadium. It also allows you to witness the breath-taking 360-degree view of Durban from the stadium’s arch. Mitchel Park Zoo: Mitchell Park is one of Durban’s oldest parks located in the upmarket suburb of Morningside. It consists of a mini zoo and a playground which is a massive attraction amongst children. It is filled with colourful flora and shady lawns which make it perfect for walks and picnics. Jameson Park: Neighbouring Mitchell Park you will find the Jameson It is widely famous for its rose garden which consists of 200 species of roses. If you wish to experience a walk amongst the beautiful roses or even have a picnic, Jameson Park is the place to go. The Golden Mile: You may find a similar vibe to California at the golden mile with so many people cycling, walking, skateboarding and indulging in various other fun activities. It is a famous beachfront walkway which is lined with shops, restaurants, sky-high infrastructures and entertainment joints. The Durban Botanical Gardens: The Durban Botanical Gardens were established in 1849 for the trial of agricultural crops. It’s the oldest surviving botanical garden in Africa where visitors can walk amongst hundreds of years old heritage trees and indigenous and exotic subtropical plants. And to top it, the gardens are home to many different species of birds.   Morningside, Durban has grown to become a popular place for tourists in South Africa.
